My Why

This too is a place holder until I am able to organize my thoughts and write something that will remain. Today was a hard day solely due to one individual’s entitled position. I’ve watched this person’s behavior expand and reveal itself from where it was once intentionally masked, resulting in a toxic unreliable organizational atmosphere.

Progressive Privilege is a term I’ve bandied about during the last few months, but have battled since 1969. I’ve use it to describe people who mean well, until their privilege or comfort is challenged. What they do when feeling this threat is key to an organization’s growth, stasis, or implosion.

Ms. Wilkerson’s book and the mentorship of Larry Levine that lives in my head/heart/soul, help keep me grounded, energized, and supported to continue doing the work that I believe in…at which I am good…with gratitude and grace.
